Goa-Delhi IndiGo flight returns, makes emergency landing after engine trouble

An IndiGo flight from Goa to Delhi encountered an engine failure mid-flight on Tuesday, September 1, prompting a safe emergency landing at Manohar International Airport in Mopa. The aircraft, flight 6E 2102, departed Goa at 9:16 a.m. and was expected to arrive in Delhi by 11:45 a.m. However, shortly after taking off, a technical issue was detected, and the pilots, adhering to standard protocol, initiated a return journey.

The aircraft, which was flying at an altitude of about 14,000 feet over southern Maharashtra, made a successful landing at 9:51 a.m. Air Traffic Control declared a full emergency at 9:30 a.m. and the aircraft was moved to Stand 6 after the emergency was lifted at 10:03 a.m. All passengers and crew members were accounted for and safely disembarked, with arrangements made for their onward travel to Delhi.

The flight's departure to Delhi was later rescheduled for 3:30 p.m., pending the necessary clearance and operational procedures. The specifics regarding the engine failure were not immediately available, as the incident is currently under investigation.
