Erin Piacenti, Bank of America VP, Killed in Random Times Square Stabbing

On Monday, September 1, 2026, a tragic stabbing occurred in New York City’s Times Square, resulting in the death of 32-year-old Erin Piacenti. Ms. Piacenti, a Vice President of Business Selection and Conflicts at Bank of America, was a native of Chester, New Jersey. She was one of two victims, the other being a 68-year-old man who was also stabbed but is currently in stable condition.

The perpetrator, identified as 49-year-old Pamela Cisneros from Queens, New York, had a documented history of mental health issues with the NYPD dating back to 2018 and 2019. However, she had no prior criminal record. According to the NYPD, the attack was described as "random and unprovoked." Ms. Piacenti was the first to be stabbed, followed by a 20-second interval before Ms. Cisneros continued her attack on the 32-year-old victim near West 42nd Street and Seventh Avenue.

After the incident, NYPD officers confronted the suspect, who refused to comply and threatened the officers. A Taser was deployed but proved ineffective. Despite this, two officers fired their weapons, ultimately neutralizing the threat. Ms. Cisneros was pronounced dead at the hospital.
