Élections Québec says it will send out voting information in French only

MONTREAL - Élections Québec has announced it will only distribute voter information in French, in order to adhere to language regulations. The agency's first annual subscription costs $205.00 plus GST for one year, with a subsequent renewal price of $233.00 plus GST every 52 weeks. The offer is exclusively for new and qualifying returning subscribers, who can cancel at any time.

In past elections, voter information cards were printed in both English and French. However, Élections Québec must comply with legislation enacted in 2022, which mandates French as the sole language of communication for public institutions. This year, the documents will feature a QR code to access English instructions online. Indigenous voters and those eligible for English instructions must contact Élections Québec to request English materials.

Élections Québec anticipates delivering information cards by September 18, 2026, preceding the scheduled election on October 5.
