Dyson Launches $499 AI Toothbrush That Flosses While You Brush

Dyson has introduced the CameraJet, an AI-powered $499 smart toothbrush that flosses while users brush their teeth. The innovative toothbrush incorporates a 100,000-pixel macro camera with an integrated light, which uses Dyson’s Gap Optical Targeting machine-learning system trained on 470,000 dental images. The system identifies gaps between teeth and instantly sprays a burst of mouthrinse into those spaces.

The CameraJet supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and its camera can function as an endoscope for real-time tooth viewing via an accompanying app. The app provides coverage maps, brushing and flossing insights, and feedback, but does not record or store images. The toothbrush uses a conical jet to cover a wider area while operating at lower pressure, ensuring effective plaque removal.

Each brush head includes an RFID tag to track usage and notify users when replacement is needed. Users can choose between automatic gap detection and manual jetting modes, adjusting brushing intensity as needed. The CameraJet is priced at $499 and available in Ceramic Ultra Blue and Ceramic Pink, with a 12.5ml anti-gravity tank mouthrinse and a range of compatible toothpaste options.
