Dolphins keep adding ex-Packers players, sign 2 to practice squad

The Miami Dolphins continue to add former Green Bay Packers to their roster, with wide receiver Will Sheppard and cornerback Jaylin Simpson recently joining their practice squad. Sheppard, a 24-year-old standout during the preseason, scored a punt return touchdown and a receiving touchdown, yet was not selected to the main team due to general manager Brian Gutekunst's choice of undrafted rookie J. Michael Sturdivant.

Simpson, a 26-year-old fifth-round pick, was a member of the Packers from August 2025 until he was released. Both Sheppard and Simpson join a growing list of former Packers in the Dolphins organization, which also includes safety Zayne Anderson, quarterbacks Malik Willis and Kyle McCord, and linebacker Sean Duggan. The team's new general manager, Jon-Eric Sullivan, who spent 19 years in the Packers front office, is credited for these acquisitions.
