DENVER (AP) — In a thrilling Monday night showdown, Baltimore Orioles outfielder Colton Cowser made an extraordinary leaping catch above the center-field fence to rob Colorado Rockies' Jake McCarthy of a potential game-winning homer. This spectacular defensive play ensured the Orioles' 2-1 victory.

Cade Povich's five innings of solid pitching were the foundation, while Cowser drove in the decisive run in the seventh inning after a 98-minute rain delay. The Orioles, currently at 69-69, have secured four consecutive wins and six of seven games, marking their first .500 record since April 30. This victory brings them within a half-game of Cleveland in the race for the last American League wild card spot.

The game was temporarily halted between the fifth and sixth innings due to heavy rain and lightning.
