Chirag Paswan gets death threat: 'You will be killed shortly by hardcore terrorists’

Union minister Chirag Paswan received an anonymous death threat in a letter, warning him that he would be "killed shortly by hardcore terrorists". The threat was sent via an unsigned communication containing two mobile numbers, which the ministry received on Tuesday. Paswan's office urgently sought attention to the matter and a probe into the origin and authenticity of the threat, as well as a review of his security arrangements.

The letter was sent to the home ministry, CRPF, and the Bihar government to highlight the risk to Paswan's safety, particularly given his current Z-category security cover. Paswan criticized Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) founder and Union minister Jitan Ram Manjhi for advocating a review of scheduled caste (SC) reservation, stating that reservation is a constitutional right and not an economic measure.
