Celtic working on up to four signings - Maloney

Celtic are eyeing up to sign up to four new players before finalising their Europa League squad, assistant manager Shaun Maloney has announced. The Scottish champions have already bolstered their first team with four signings this transfer window and have been linked with several potential additions. These include Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, Parma midfielder Oliver Sorensen, and PSV Eindhoven midfielder Joel van den Berg.

Maloney is particularly keen on securing another left-back to compete with Scotland international Kieran Tierney. Additionally, there is a possibility that Japan midfielder Reo Hatate could be set for a move away. Maloney revealed that there are specific areas of the squad that still require reinforcement, with certain roles needing to be replaced in order to inject extra speed, power, and dimension.

He emphasized the importance of having a capable backup for Tierney, stating that the right type of player is crucial for the team. Celtic's targets arrive as the transfer window closes, with the Scottish Premiership team set to visit Aberdeen on Wednesday.
