Buchanan grad Jayden Mandal named Fresno State's starting quarterback

Jayden Mandal, a recent graduate of Buchanan High School, has been named the starting quarterback for Fresno State's football team for the upcoming season. This announcement was made by head coach Matt Entz as the new football campaign begins. Mandal, who has been with the Bulldogs for four years, earned the starting position over fellow graduate Khristian Martin, who transferred from the University of Maryland.

Entz praised Mandal's performance in fall camp, citing his timing, accuracy, and ability to take care of the ball as key factors in securing the starting job. This marks Mandal's first season as the team's starter, following his previous experience as a backup. The Bulldogs will be competing in the newly restructured Pac-12 Conference, with their first game set for Friday night against the University of Southern California. Kickoff for that match is scheduled for 6:00 PM at the LA Coliseum.
