Berlin-based venture capital firm Auxxo has successfully concluded its Female Catalyst Fund II with a total investment of €33.3 million, marking a 75% increase over its previous fund. Founded in 2021 by Bettine Schmitz and Dr. Gesa Miczaika, Auxxo specifically targets companies with at least one female founder, co-investing in pre-Seed and Seed stages across Europe.

The fund, which closed in July 2025, received backing from the European Investment Fund (EIF) and other notable investors such as Aurum Impact, EnBW New Ventures, Cherry Ventures, and Speedinvest. Notably, more than half of the fund's limited partners are women, highlighting the growing industry shift towards diversity.

In addition to the successful fund close, Auxxo has launched a pan-European Founder Matchmaking Platform aimed at connecting ambitious women with co-founders to build diverse teams. The platform, now live on Auxxo's website, focuses on three user groups: solo founders seeking a technical or operational "missing piece," experienced operators ready to enter entrepreneurship, and teams seeking capital. Auxxo provides direct access to pre-Seed and Seed investment expertise for these teams.

Auxxo's co-founders, Schmitz and Miczaika, see themselves as a bridge in the startup ecosystem, and this new platform is their way of ensuring more women found startups now, rather than in the future.
