Alaska governor race has one last Democrat standing

In Alaska's gubernatorial race, the only remaining Democrat is Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins, following fellow Democrat Tom Begich's withdrawal and endorsement. Begich, who finished second in the August primary, cited a desire to bring Democratic voters and resources together behind a single candidate. The only other Democrat on the ballot is Kreiss-Tomkins, who secured the most votes.

Begich, whose father and brother have both served in Alaska's political landscape, stated that their campaign had raised over $1.3 million but would need additional funding to continue. The Democratic campaign focuses on issues such as education funding, housing, healthcare, energy costs, and receiving a fair share from Alaska's oil and gas industry resources.

Republicans, including candidates Bernadette Wilson and Dave Bronson, face their own challenges, with some dropping out of the race due to financial issues and votes shifting to other candidates.
