Agrobank allocates RM10mil financing for over 2,000 TVET graduates

Agrobank, a Malaysian bank, has allocated RM10 million for a financing scheme aimed at supporting over 2,000 technical and vocational education and training (TVET) graduates. The TVET Graduate Easy Financing Scheme, launched in collaboration with the Private Industry Association of Vocational Colleges and Technical Secondary Schools, aims to assist graduates in turning their technical skills into viable business opportunities.

The scheme, offered at a profit rate of 4.75 percent per annum with a maximum repayment period of five years, allows each participant to receive a maximum of RM5,000 in financing from Agrobank.

The key feature of the scheme is its accessibility, with applicants not requiring any prior work or business experience. Eligible individuals, aged between 18 and 35, must simply provide their TVET certificates and other necessary documents to apply at any Agrobank branch. The financing can be utilized to purchase essential equipment and other necessities required for TVET-related businesses, even those operated from home.

Beyond the financial support, Agrobank will provide business advisory services, including guidance in financial management and marketing, to assist successful applicants. The bank will also closely monitor the progress of these businesses for a minimum of three months following the start of the scheme. The initiative is open to Malaysian citizens with a diploma, degree, or certificate from recognized technical and vocational institutions in Malaysia.

The scheme is set to run from September 2026 to August 2027, or until the RM10 million allocation is fully utilized, whichever occurs first.
