(2nd LD) Pitcher Go Woo-suk reunites with ex-KBO team after short MLB stint

Go Woo-suk's free agency from the Minnesota Twins has led to his rejoining his former Korean Baseball Organization team, the LG Twins. The 28-year-old pitcher flew into Seoul early Tuesday evening, with the LG Twins' general manager expecting to meet with Go to finalize his contract either that night or the following morning. Go, who previously pitched for the Twins from 2017 to 2023, was designated for assignment by the Minnesota Twins last Friday and refused the assignment to their Triple-A team, the St. Paul Saints.

This move allowed him to become a free agent. The LG Twins, currently in fourth place with a 64-51-1 record, are in the midst of a postseason race and are facing injuries on their pitching staff. Their relievers have the fifth-best ERA in the league at 5.16, and You Young-chan, their closer, had to undergo elbow surgery in April.

With Go's return, the Twins are looking to strengthen their bullpen for the remainder of the 2026 season, though he won't be eligible to pitch in postseason games.
