2 Broncos players made PFF’s list of top NFL cornerbacks

Pro Football Focus recently released their top 32 cornerbacks rankings for the upcoming 2026 NFL season. The Denver Broncos boast an impressive pair of cornerbacks making the list: Pat Surtain II and Ja'Quan McMillian. Dalton Wasserman, a writer for Broncos Wire, provides insight into why both players were selected for the prestigious list.

Surtain, while not quite reaching the heights of his 2024 Defensive Player of the Year season, still showcased strong performance last year. He played at least 1,000 snaps for the Broncos in four consecutive years and earned a PFF grade of 73.3, which placed him 22nd among all qualified cornerbacks. Surtain contributed 10 pass breakups and recorded one interception during the season. Wasserman highlights that Surtain will continue to be the star player for one of the NFL's elite secondaries.

On the other hand, McMillian made history last season as the highest-graded primary slot cornerback in the NFL. His PFF grade of 80.8 secured him the fourth spot among all qualified cornerbacks. Including the postseason, McMillian recorded three interceptions, three pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and four sacks. Wasserman praises McMillian's versatility, which allows the Broncos to execute a variety of defensive schemes at a high level.

As the Broncos navigate roster cuts and aim for another AFC Championship appearance, Surtain and McMillian will undoubtedly play crucial roles in their quest for success.
