What Root told his team post Lord’s win: ‘Celebrate…in a sensible, grown-up way’

Joe Root led the England team to a 194-run victory over Pakistan in the second Test at Lord’s, securing the series win for England. Root urged his teammates to celebrate the win in a "sensible, grown-up way", emphasizing that winning Test matches and series is no easy feat. Root expressed satisfaction with the start of the new team and highlighted the challenges posed by the altered conditions and ball characteristics in this season.

Despite struggling with the bat, scoring only four runs in the first innings and 24 in the second, Root remains optimistic about his performance, stating that he is working hard and anticipating a significant score in the near future.
