As the deadline for the entry of immigrants into Ceuta approached, President Pedro Sánchez dismissed Morocco's involvement in the crisis, stating that they had offered "instant cooperation" from the very first day of the 30th. He pointed to the "misrepresentation" and dissemination on social media of a false Supreme Court ruling about the border crossings as the catalyst for the influx of migrants.

Sánchez associated this wave of misinformation with Russia, Israel, and an "ultra-right international that always uses migration to attack Spain, Europe, and divide it." He announced that King Felipe would visit Ceuta "when the conditions are right." Sánchez acknowledged meetings between Ceuta's authorities and the government before the mass entry, but said there was "no information shared about the magnitude of the crisis we would face on July 30th and 31st."

He estimated that 5,000 migrants remained in the streets of Ceuta after the influx on the 30th and 31st, with 1,200 of them being minors, and announced that 6,000 places would be made available in reception centers. The ministers of Equality, Ana Redondo, and Youth and Childhood, Sira Rego, also appeared in the Congress. Their appearances followed another night of tension in the autonomous city.
