UAE condemns Iranian drone attack, says it reserves right to respond

The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned what it termed as an aggressive drone attack launched by Iran on its territory. According to the UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Iranian aircraft were intercepted by air defense systems operating within UAE's territorial waters, marking a severe escalation and a blatant breach of the nation's sovereignty. The ministry emphasized that the attack represented a direct threat to the UAE's security, stability, and the safety of its citizens and residents.

In a statement, the ministry asserted that such actions constitute an unacceptable violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, and highlighted the UAE's unwavering commitment to safeguard its security and sovereignty at all costs. The UAE reserves the right to respond in a manner that ensures the protection of its territorial integrity, national security, and the safety of its people and visitors, in line with international legal standards.

The statement also called for an immediate halt to such attacks and adherence to cessation of all hostile acts. The UAE attributed full responsibility for the attack to Iran and its consequences. Following the incident, the Ministry of Defence had earlier announced the UAE Air Force's response to a UAV detected over UAE's territorial waters, originating from Iran.

The Armed Forces maintained a high state of readiness to counter any potential threats, with air defense systems continuously monitoring the country's airspace round-the-clock. The statement urged the public to rely on official sources for accurate information and discouraged the dissemination of rumors or inaccurate data.
