Tiger Woods Sends Message to Scottie Scheffler After Breaking His Record
Tiger Woods sent a message to Scottie Scheffler, who broke his historic record after winning the Tour Championship on Sunday.
Scottie Scheffler, currently ranked as the world's top golfer, recently received a congratulatory message from golfing legend Tiger Woods. The message came after Scheffler completed an impressive 2026 season, which saw him win two playoff events, including the Tour Championship.
Entering the final round of the Tour Championship, Scheffler was trailing by three shots to fourth-place Viktor Hovland. However, Scheffler's four-under, 66 enabled him to finish the tournament three shots ahead of Hovland, ultimately securing his position as world No. 1. Scheffler's victory also marked a historic milestone, surpassing Tiger Woods' long-standing record as the PGA Tour's all-time money leader.
In a social media post on Sunday, Woods expressed his congratulations to Scheffler on his historic season. The 2026 season for Scheffler included two playoff losses, 10 top-5 finishes, and six long months between his first and second wins. Despite these challenges, Scheffler's consistent performance throughout the season ultimately led to his victory in the Tour Championship and the breaking of Tiger Woods' record.
With this achievement, Scheffler not only surpassed Woods' record but also obliterated it in the process, demonstrating his dominance in the world of golf.
