Spot the real Mamdani: New York mayor makes s’mores as look-alikes battle for US$100 (VIDEO)

New York City witnessed an amusing look-alike contest on Sunday near Washington Square Park, where a group of men who closely resembled Mayor Zohran Mamdani competed for a US$100 prize. Around 200 people gathered to watch the event, hosted by the app Sonder, which connects Gen-Zers. Nine contestants dressed in similar suits, hairstyles, and ties to the mayor, with Amadeo Fusca emerging as the winner.

Fusca, a 40-year-old Manhattan comedian and actor, won the contest with a smirk, haircut, and facial hair that closely resembled Mamdani's, along with a Knicks jersey tucked under his suit. Fusca, who has gained millions of views on social media by impersonating Mamdani, said friends frequently pointed out the resemblance and encouraged him to embrace it.

He even changed his hairstyle after realizing the likeness. The contest initially planned inside the park was moved outside after police requested a permit. Meanwhile, the real Mayor Mamdani was at Inwood Hill Park, participating in an NYC Parks family camping programme.
