Snatch thieves fail to grab woman’s handbag, but rip RM2,000 gold bracelet from her wrist outside Cheras home

On August 31, two unidentified men on a motorcycle attempted to steal a woman's handbag outside her residence in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. When their attempt to snatch the bag was unsuccessful, the men proceeded to rip a gold bracelet, valued at RM2,000, from the woman's wrist before fleeing the scene on their motorcycle. According to Kajang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof, the incident occurred around 11:15 am, as the woman was speaking on the phone in front of her home.

The woman was not injured during the event, but lost her valuable bracelet. Police received a report of the incident at 3:44 pm and are currently reviewing closed-circuit television footage to identify the suspects. The suspects were reportedly wearing helmets with dark visors, but the motorcycle's registration number could not be clearly determined.

Naazron stated that police are actively working to locate and apprehend the suspects in order to assist with the investigation under Section 395 of the Penal Code. The case had gained attention on social media following the posting of photographs and video clips of the suspected individuals on the social media platform Threads.
