Shane Gillis wrings a fourth season of Tires out of Netflix

Despite the rarity of a Netflix series making it to four seasons, comedy performer Shane Gillis has managed to secure a fourth season for his show Tires. This announcement was made by Netflix recently, confirming that Tires will return for another year. The third season of the comedy premiered earlier this month, and it garnered the show's highest rating on Netflix's Top 10 ratings so far. In a press statement, Gillis expressed his excitement, saying, “It’s cool to get to make another season of Tires.”

Although it may be uncommon for a Netflix series—especially a comedy—to reach a fourth season, the streaming platform has been supportive of Gillis' work. Gillis previously hosted the controversial Kevin Hart roast, where he joked about lynching the guest of honor. As a result of his performance, Gillis sold out Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

This achievement earned him two Guinness World Records: most tickets sold for a solo comedian show and the largest attendance for a solo comedian show. Interestingly, there was a reported discrepancy of nearly 4,000 people between these two records.

Gillis' success has also led to an agreement with Netflix to continue their collaboration. Besides Tires' fourth season, there are plans for more standup specials and other series featuring Gillis and his comedy partner, John McKeever. Additionally, fellow Netflix favorite Dave Chappelle was spotted at one of Gillis' sold-out shows, indicating the support Gillis has from his fellow streaming stars.
