Premier League Team of the Week: Our Best XI

Our weekly Premier League Team of the Week showcases the best-performing XI from the second round of fixtures. Goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis of Hull City made a perfect start with consecutive clean sheets, stopping Taiwo Awoniyi's effort in a pivotal moment. Right-back Amar Dedic of Newcastle United had a great debut with two assists in the League Cup and an adventurous performance against Tottenham Hotspur.

Centre-back Nordi Mukiele of Fulham made a significant impact with 14 clearances and a clean sheet against his former side. Marc Guehi of Crystal Palace returned to his favoured role, leading the contest for touches and completing 7/8 long balls forward. Left-back Neco Williams of Nottingham Forest exceeded expectations, winning a penalty and creating chances against his former club.

Central midfield Nico Gonzalez of Newcastle United made an excellent debut with a long-range distribution and an outstanding cross for Elanga's goal. Bruno Fernandes of Manchester United, fresh from winning the PFA Player of the Year, scored a hat-trick and assisted a penalty in a 5-2 victory over Ipswich. Right-wing Anthony Elanga of Newcastle United returned to form with a crucial goal for his new team.

Left-wing Rayan Cherki of Manchester City delivered a sublime performance, scoring two stunning goals at Selhurst Park. Centre-forward Joao Pedro of Chelsea played the best football of his career, scoring an own goal and an own assist for Cole Palmer's winning goal. Erling Haaland of Manchester City opened the scoring for his team with a powerful header against Crystal Palace.
