Police hunt driver after man killed while crossing Shah Alam road

KUALA LUMPUR, August 31 — The police are searching for the driver of an unknown vehicle that allegedly struck and killed a 45-year-old man as he crossed Shah Alam Road early this morning. According to Harian Metro, the accident occurred around 8:20am on Jalan Bukit Kemuning, heading from Taman Sri Muda towards Klang. The victim, a Bangladeshi national, was reportedly crossing the road when the collision took place.

The impact caused severe injuries to the victim's head and legs, resulting in his death at the scene. The body was subsequently transported to the Forensic Department at Shah Alam Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Assistant Commissioner Sarudin Samah of the Shah Alam district police revealed that the vehicle responsible has not been identified yet, and police are actively investigating to locate both the vehicle and its driver.

The case is being handled under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Police have also called upon anyone with information regarding the crash to come forward and assist with the investigation. They request the public to contact Inspector Abdul Nasser Peping, the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division officer at the Shah Alam district police headquarters, at 012-286 3875 for any relevant information.
