Pink Electric Scooty Scheme Announced for Another District

The Sindh government has unveiled a new initiative to distribute Pink Electric Scooters to women residents in Mirpurkhas, as part of its ongoing women’s mobility program. Sharjeel Inam Memon, a prominent Sindh Senior Minister and the Provincial Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit, revealed that more than 50,000 women have already expressed interest in the scheme, demonstrating significant enthusiasm.

The government has already trained over 2,000 women in driving and related skills, with ongoing sessions held in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas, and Shaheed Benazirabad. The ultimate goal is to equip more women with the ability to ride scooters safely, enhance their mobility, and enable them to take part more actively in economic and social activities.

During the first phase of the initiative, the Sindh government allocated 925 Pink Electric Scooters, followed by 476 scooters in the second phase. As of now, more than 810 scooters have been distributed free of cost to women, including 410 in Karachi, 200 in Sukkur, and 200 in Hyderabad. Memon announced that the program aims to expand to more areas of Sindh and will specifically focus on Mirpurkhas during the next phase.

The government’s vision is to empower women with greater mobility, increased confidence, and improved access to economic opportunities, while promoting safer and more dignified transportation options.
