Phyna marks sister’s death anniversary, says ‘sorry I couldn’t get you justice’

Big Brother Naija Level Up winner Phyna commemorated the first anniversary of her sister's death, lamenting that she could not secure justice for her sister after a fatal accident involving a Dangote Group truck. The reality star shared her pain in a post on Monday, stating that the truck driver, who was underage, had not been arrested a year after the incident.

Phyna expressed that while her sister's memory remained alive in her heart, the past year had been extremely difficult. Despite the passage of time, certain moments still felt as though the tragedy had occurred recently. Phyna fondly recalled the memories she shared with her sister, wishing she could have had one last conversation, hug, or laugh with her.

She also regretted that her sister was not present to witness her achievements and offer her advice. Phyna had previously raised concerns over the incident in August 2025, accusing businessman Aliko Dangote and Dangote Group of mishandling the case. Dangote Group later issued a statement, promising to support Phyna's sister and her family with comprehensive medical care and appropriate compensation.

However, her sister passed away on August 31, 2025. In her tribute, Phyna emphasized the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing loved ones, expressing her regret for not securing justice for her sister.
