NST team conquers KL heritage quest to win Merdeka challenge

Kuala Lumpur: The New Straits Times' Baby G NST team clinched victory in Xplorasi Warisan KL: Edisi Merdeka 2026, a heritage-themed city quest organized by Warisan KL and its partners. The team earned RM4,000 for completing challenges across Kuala Lumpur, including Stadium Merdeka and Dataran Merdeka. Team member Azanis Shahila Aman, a Business Times journalist, expressed that winning was an unforgettable experience, praising the diverse checkpoints that provided insights into the city's history, architecture, crafts, and cuisine.

NST finished first, while KITA TRY secured second place with RM3,000, and Baru Nak Up BERNAMA claimed third with RM2,000. Fifteen consolation prizes of up to RM400 were also distributed to teams that successfully completed all tasks, emphasizing the event's role in fostering appreciation for Malaysia's shared heritage. Warisan KL Joint Secretariat representative Datuk Mohamed Nasri Sallehuddin highlighted the importance of such initiatives in inspiring Malaysians to explore, appreciate, and protect their nation's history for future generations.
