NPP national election vetting committee is very accommodating – Afoko

Paul Awentame Afoko, a hopeful candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Chairman position, has praised the party's vetting committee for its welcoming and cooperative approach during his vetting process. The Cecilia Dapaah-led committee began the vetting on Monday, August 31, 2026, with a series of aspirants vying for the key positions of National Chairman, General Secretary, and National Treasurer.

Afoko, the first candidate to undergo the vetting, stated that the entire process took place in a friendly and inviting atmosphere. During the media interview following the exercise, Afoko mentioned that the committee allowed him the opportunity to converse freely with its members and remained receptive throughout the entire process.

He further elaborated that the interaction extended beyond the formal vetting, as the committee members engaged him on some of the strategies he intended to employ in his campaign. Afoko expressed his satisfaction with the committee's conduct and commended them for establishing an environment that fostered constructive and open dialogue.

He also assured that past issues would not hinder his vetting progress, stating, "I am confident past issues will not affect my vetting."
