National Unity Ministry remains committed to strengthening national unity, social harmony

KUALA LUMPUR: The National Unity Ministry is steadfast in its commitment to bolstering national unity and social harmony, as per the National Unity Policy. Datuk Haslina Abdul Hamid, secretary-general of the ministry, explained that this goal is being pursued through a range of programs and initiatives focused on enhancing social integration, promoting patriotism, and fostering a more inclusive society.

Haslina emphasized that unity can be achieved through a spirit of togetherness, mutual respect, and acceptance of differences, ensuring the well-being of today is preserved for future generations. She cited the legacy of past leaders as a guiding example for the country's development, aiming to maintain an atmosphere of peace and harmony.

Haslina expressed hope that events like the Anak Merdeka Malaysia celebrations would continue and expand, as they not only recognize individuals born on National Day and Malaysia Day but also offer Malaysians a chance to connect with the country's history and identity. She highlighted the crucial role of the Father of Independence, the late Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, who played a pivotal role in securing Malaysia's independence.

Tunku Abdul Rahman's leadership, marked by consultation and consensus, ensured that diverse racial voices were heard and respected. Haslina urged Malaysians to carry forward the spirit of unity he exemplified, drawing inspiration to preserve the foundation of peace, prosperity, and national unity.
