N. Korea denounces US hostile policy toward it, vows 'toughest' response

North Korea harshly criticized the United States on Monday, accusing Washington of maintaining a hostile policy. The North Korean spokesperson at the country's foreign ministry lambasted the U.S. for pursuing hostile measures under the guise of denuclearization and human rights. The official warned that it was futile to hope for any easing of tensions in the region, citing the DPRK's perception that the U.S. was intensifying its hostile stance towards the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

This assessment came amid reports that U.S. President Donald Trump had been in contact with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, expressing a desire to meet in the coming months. Despite these efforts, the North Korean statement remained firm, asserting that the DPRK would continue to respond with the toughest countermeasures available, in defiance of the U.S. persistent hostile policy.
