Mountain West Football Rankings: Week 0. Rebels fall, Bison rise.

As the college football season kicked off, the Mountain West conference rankings experienced a few shifts due to the four games played. New Mexico remained a favorite, despite not playing a game, as their defense looked strong with key players returning. The Bison also made an impressive debut, dominating their opponents with a potent rushing attack and a formidable defense.

However, the Rebels struggled out of the gate, needing to improve their offensive line and secondary to compete for the conference title. Hawaii also saw a slight drop in their ranking after a slow start, but their offense showed potential when it clicked. Air Force and Wyoming remained in the middle of the pack, with both teams aiming to improve upon their past seasons.

San Jose State and Nevada saw no games played, but both teams have talented players and a chance to turn things around in the coming weeks. Finally, Northern Illinois and UTEP entered the conference with some promising talent, but both programs likely face a difficult road to a competitive season.
