Manitoba says work on track to open temporary Dauphin ER by Sept. 7

Manitoba's government is confident that a temporary emergency department (ER) will be operational in Dauphin by Sept. 7. The ER will function from the main floor of the Dauphin Regional Health Centre, utilizing temporary power, water, and other facilities as the hospital undergoes repair work. Following severe flooding in early July, the hospital was taken offline and forced patients to evacuate.

While the full restoration of the regional health hub could take a year, the temporary ER is expected to provide crucial medical services during this period. A mobile CT unit will be on-site within weeks, while services such as dialysis and chemotherapy will be provided by other hospitals in the region. The Manitoba government has not disclosed an estimated timeline for the hospital's full repair.
