Man held within 30 hours in murder and rape of 21-year-old nurse

Police in Pahadishareef arrested a 34-year-old bike mechanic, Md. Sanaullah, within 30 hours of receiving a complaint related to the murder and alleged rape of a 21-year-old nurse in Thukkuguda, Hyderabad. The victim's aunt reported the incident to police on August 29, around 3:20 p.m., after noticing that the victim had not left her room since the morning and was unresponsive to knocks.

Upon entering the room through a window, officers found the woman lying dead with facial injuries. Technical evidence and information led investigators to Sanaullah, who had relocated to Hyderabad in 2023 and began working as a bike mechanic in Uppal. Two months prior, he moved to Thukkuguda and started working at a bike mechanic shop.

According to police, Sanaullah had observed the woman through a rear-side window of the shop about a month before the incident and allegedly began monitoring her movements. He allegedly entered her room around 12:30 a.m. on August 29 and attempted to sexually assault her when she woke up and raised an alarm. During a struggle, the woman bit his little finger and scratched his throat and chest.

Sanaullah then allegedly assaulted her, pushed her down, strangled her, and sexually assaulted her before closing the window and leaving the scene. Police have seized the accused's mobile phone and clothes, and they are collecting scientific, technical, and other corroborative evidence for further investigation.
