Jaden Hardy tells Lakers fans what they can expect from him

Jaden Hardy, the Los Angeles Lakers' newest acquisition, has set the expectations for fans in a recent video for the Lakers' YouTube channel. Despite being acquired in a July trade for center Deandre Ayton, along with future draft picks, Hardy has been largely overlooked since the trade. However, coach JJ Redick could find a spot for Hardy as a "break-glass-in-case-of-emergency" option.

Hardy, 24, is a proven three-point threat, although he's considered below average in other aspects of the game. He expects to bring good energy to the Lakers, serving as a "three-level scorer" who lifts teammates and is excited to play in front of fans. Over his four NBA seasons, Hardy has averaged 8.4 points per game in 14.9 minutes and made 38.6% of his three-point attempts. He's a high-volume three-point shooter and efficient from the mid-range area.

Interestingly, Hardy spent the first two and a half seasons of his career with the Dallas Mavericks alongside Luka Doncic, which should make it easier for the two to gel on the Lakers. In his last season with the Mavericks, Hardy averaged a career-high 9.2 points per game and shot 39.7% from beyond the arc. He was traded to the Wizards in February as part of the deal that sent former Lakers star Anthony Davis to Washington.
