Pakistan cricket captain Babar Azam has refuted claims that the team contemplated walking out on the Lord’s Test against England due to the airing of an interview featuring the sons of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. The dispute originated when Sulaiman and Kasim Khan discussed their father's circumstances during the ongoing Test.

Reports suggested that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was contemplating a firm reaction to the interview, with a possibility of Pakistan refusing to come back onto the field after lunch. Babar, though, affirmed that the players were not part of any such deliberations and emphasized that he was unaware of a proposed boycott. Babar's assertion seemed to distance the team from the rumors of a potential boycott and implied that the players were fixated on the Test match.

Previously, Pakistan head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed also dismissed having any cognizance of such a plan. Despite the controversy surrounding the interview and the PCB's reported objections, the Pakistan team ultimately returned to the field post-lunch interval and proceeded with the Test. The issue added another off-field angle to Pakistan's challenging Test campaign in England.

Babar’s denial, coupled with Sarfaraz's remarks, indicated that the reported boycott threat was not even discussed with the players, as the focus remained solely on the Test match.
