Housemarque Co-Founder Ilari Kuittinen Announces Exit from Saros Developer After 31 Years

Housemarque co-founder Ilari Kuittinen has announced his departure from the PlayStation studio after a 31-year tenure. Kuittinen shared a final message to fans, confirming his last day with the team. The letter detailed his 33-year career in the games industry, with 31 of those spent at Housemarque, a studio co-founded with Harri Tikkanen in 1995.

Throughout his time at Housemarque, Kuittinen oversaw the launch of notable titles such as Saros, Returnal, and Resogun. He emphasized the studio's commitment to gameplay and its evolution into a AAA developer. Kuittinen also acknowledged the team's accomplishments, noting that the studio was recently recognized as a PlayStation Studio.

He expressed gratitude to his fellow team members and partners, stating that he is taking a well-deserved break after a remarkable tenure.
