General : RMAF Chief Leads Thrilling Air Display At 69th National Day Celebration

KUALA LUMPUR: General Tan Sri Muhamad Norazlan Aris, the chief of the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF), led the National Day flypast over Putrajaya. As he donned his flight suit, survival vest, and Gallet LA100 helmet, he expressed pride and excitement at the prospect of commanding the Sukhoi Su-30MKM alongside three other Su-30MKMs, four F/A-18D Hornets, and two BAE Systems Hawks.

Norazlan emphasized that his role as RMAF chief extends beyond flying — it is about leading the charge and safeguarding the country's airspace. He urged younger officers to remain current, continue learning, and never become complacent. Norazlan, whose call sign is Giro, highlighted the importance of technological advancements and the need to maintain discipline, courage, and patriotism.

To him, Merdeka represents not just national independence, but the responsibility to defend the nation's sovereignty and dignity. He implored young Malaysians to contribute to the country by pursuing knowledge, enhancing their capabilities, and serving with integrity.
