General : Cabinet Ministers Extend National Day Greetings, Urge Unity And Harmony Among Malaysians

Today, Malaysia's cabinet ministers sent out their 69th National Day greetings to all Malaysians across various social media platforms. They emphasized the importance of continuing to strengthen unity, preserving harmony, and defending the nation's independence. Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform), stressed that Malaysia's strength lies in its united people, regardless of race, religion, or background.

She encouraged the nation to uphold the legacy of the previous generation's sacrifices and continue striving for a stronger future. Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail urged the people to reflect on the nation's 69-year journey and maintain peace while fostering unity. Works Minister Alexander Nanta Linggi highlighted that National Day is about appreciating the blessings of living in a peaceful, multiracial country rich in diversity.

Religious Affairs Minister Dr Zulkifli Hasan reminded Malaysians that independence is more than just waving flags; it's a sacred trust and demand for justice for all. Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) also quoted Dr Burhanuddin Al-Helmy and Dr A. Samad Said to reinforce the importance of cultivating a spirit of true independence and living together in harmony.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh echoed the theme of the 2026 National Day celebration, Madani: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati, by praising the spirit of independence and patriotism displayed by Malaysians from all walks of life. The 2026 celebration featured 76 contingents, 22 brass bands, 11 decorated floats, and 10,819 personnel from various government agencies, security forces, and civil society representatives, marking a classic example of Malaysian unity and success.
