GameTimePA's Smith Village Week 1 Football Player of the Week poll

The inaugural week of high school football has concluded, and now readers are invited to participate in GameTimePA's SCAC Football Player of the Week poll. The poll remains open until noon on Thursday, September 3, with the winner to be revealed on Instagram and in the upcoming poll story. Votings must be completed online, with separate polls for boys and girls athletes.

Nominations for future athlete of the week polls can be sent to scores@ydr.com, with nominations closing at noon Sunday for the games played from Monday to Saturday each week. If the poll is not visible, refreshing the browser may help.

Football players nominated for the first week include Nate Baranoski from Big Spring, who completed 7-of-12 passes for 123 yards and three touchdowns, along with 70 rushing yards, in a 42-34 victory over Shippensburg. DJ Dickson from Northeastern amassed 152 total yards and scored a touchdown through a 25-yard run and a 16-yard reception, leading the Bobcats to a 35-34 win over East Pennsboro, marking their first victory in four seasons.

Hunter Egli from James Buchanan rushed for 147 yards and four touchdowns in a 36-6 win against Claysburg-Kimmel, adding a punt return for 58 yards and nine tackles. Jensen Ferber from West York had 212 passing yards and two touchdowns, along with a 212-yard rushing performance, in a 19-9 win against Susquehanna Township.
