EFP says concerned at ‘discriminatory’ action against Mian Adrees

Karachi: The Employers’ Federation of Pakistan (EFP) has voiced deep concern over the unfair and prejudiced actions taken against Mian Adrees, a distinguished industrialist, respected business leader, and esteemed Board Member of the EFP, former FPCCI and Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry president. Mian Adrees has made significant contributions to Pakistan’s business and industrial landscape through his dedication to industry development, investment, employment generation, and economic growth.

He has held various important positions within the business community and is highly regarded by employers and stakeholders alike. The manner in which the matter has been made public, without conducting a thorough and transparent investigation and without a comprehensive examination of the facts and circumstances, raises serious concerns.

Such actions can have far-reaching implications for the reputation, dignity, and credibility of an individual who has made substantial contributions to the country's economic progress. EFP firmly believes that due process, fairness, transparency, and the presumption of innocence until proven guilty must be upheld in all situations.

Accountability is crucial for reinforcing public institutions and the rule of law; however, it must be executed fairly and impartially, with due consideration for the rights and reputation of the individuals involved. The action taken against Mian Adrees has not only caused significant harm to his personal and professional standing but has also instilled a sense of apprehension and unrest within the broader business community.

This can erode investor and entrepreneur confidence, as well as create unease among business leaders about the security of their reputation and lawful business operations. Consequently, EFP urges the relevant authorities to ensure that the matter is addressed strictly in accordance with the law, due process, and the principles of natural justice.

EFP also requests that all pertinent facts and circumstances be thoroughly assessed before reaching any conclusions or perpetuating an adverse perception of Mian Adrees. The business community wholeheartedly supports transparent and unbiased accountability and does not object to lawful investigations when credible grounds exist.

However, accountability must not undermine dignity, reputation, fairness, or the confidence of the business community. EFP steadfastly advocates for the protection of the business community's legitimate interests, dignity, and reputation and hopes that the appropriate authorities will take appropriate measures to ensure justice is served and any unwarranted damage to Mian Adrees' reputation is rectified.
