Djokovic crashes out of US Open in five-set defeat to Navone

This marked Djokovic's first opening-round exit from a major tournament since losing to Paul Goldstein at the Australian Open in 2006. In the weeks leading up to the US Open, Djokovic had been battling a health issue that had been troubling him for years, particularly in hot and humid conditions.
