Congress Govt was people-centric in 1000 days of rule: TPCC chief

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief and MLC B. Mahesh Kumar Goud highlighted that farmers’ welfare stood at the forefront of the Congress government’s policies during its 1000 days in power. He revealed that crop loans up to ₹2 lakh were waived, benefiting 25.35 lakh farmers by spending more than ₹20,000 crore. The Rythu Bharosa scheme had extended to ₹36,000 crore, with assistance rising to ₹12,000 per acre.

Agriculture spending reached a record ₹1.75 lakh crore, with additional ₹30,000 crore allocated for free agricultural power, and nearly ₹4,000 crore set aside as a bonus for fine paddy varieties. The government also allocated ₹3,500 crore to Rythu Bima. Goud praised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the Cabinet for creating confidence among Telangana’s youth by filling over 70,000 government positions.

He emphasized the focus on school education through breakfast programs in schools and colleges, and the construction of 100 Young India Integrated Residential Schools. In terms of social justice, the government had implemented significant decisions, including a BC caste survey and a 42% reservation for BCs in local bodies. Goud concluded by reaffirming the government’s commitment to inclusive development and social justice for farmers, women, agricultural laborers, and weaker sections.
