Amazon Web Services (AWS) is expanding the capabilities of its Graviton5 processors to support more data-intensive workloads through the launch of new memory-optimized R9g and R9gd instances. These instances, revealed by AWS Principal Developer Advocate Daniel Abib, are designed to power demanding applications like in-memory databases, big data analytics engines, high-throughput web services, and Kubernetes microservices.
Powered by Graviton5 CPUs, the R9g and R9gd instances deliver up to 25% better compute performance, 35% faster web application execution, and 30% faster database processing compared to their predecessors.
