Applied Materials strives to cooperate with chipmakers to shorten equipment lead time

Applied Materials, a company specializing in semiconductor engineering solutions, is collaborating with Korean chipmakers to streamline the lead time for their equipment, according to Park Gwang-sun, the Korea Country President. During a press conference in Seoul, Park emphasized that Korea's significance in the global artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem has gained new recognition within the past year.

One of the company's primary responsibilities is to work in close coordination with its customers to predict long-term demand, subsequently procuring equipment accordingly. Park explained, "We are actively collaborating with our customers to optimize designs and maximize output, ensuring that our equipment manufactures top-quality devices."

The semiconductor industry has recently observed a surge in chipmakers expanding their fabrication facilities (fabs) globally. For instance, SK hynix recently announced its new facility in Indiana, while Samsung has already initiated operations at its Taylor facility. As these companies broaden their international reach, Applied Materials Korea is striving to provide consistent technical support and workforce assistance to facilitate their expansion efforts.
