Anna Hazare admitted to ICU in Mumbai

Former anti-corruption activist Anna Hazare was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at Bombay Hospital on Monday due to a deterioration in his health. The 87-year-old had been initially receiving treatment at a facility near his village of Ralegan Siddhi. He was transferred to Mumbai due to complications from a severe viral infection, dehydration, and concerns over his kidney function.

Hazare is currently under observation in the ICU and is being cared for by Dr. Gautam Bhansali. Medical experts are conducting detailed tests to determine the best course of treatment, with the final plan depending on the test results. His vital signs are being closely monitored. Hazare, a prominent figure in India's anti-corruption movement, gained recognition for his hunger strikes and advocacy for the Right to Information (RTI) Act and the Jan Lokpal Bill. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1992 for his contributions to society and rural development.
