Afriland Properties Appoints Agatha Obiekwugo as Board Chairman

Afriland Properties Plc has announced the appointment of Agatha Obiekwugo as the new Chairman of its Board of Directors, effective immediately. This replaces Emmanuel Nnorom, who will be stepping down after over a decade in the position. The move was announced in a statement issued by the company on Monday, August 31, 2026.

Obiekwugo has been a member of the board since October 2018, initially as a Non-Executive Director. Throughout her tenure, she has been actively involved in various committees, including Finance, Risk and General-Purpose, as well as Nomination, Audit and Governance. Her extensive experience and commitment have been recognized by the Board and Management of Afriland Properties Plc, who have expressed their gratitude for her contributions.

The transition to Obiekwugo's leadership is expected to bring continuity to the board, as her previous involvement in the company's committees will allow her to smoothly assume the role of Chair. With over 30 years of experience spanning banking, commerce, information technology, consulting, and the oil and gas industry, Obiekwugo is well-equipped to guide the company through its strategic direction.
