4 maut, 4 cedera nahas 11 kenderaan di LPT1

At least four fatalities and four injuries occurred in a multiple vehicle accident involving 11 vehicles on the Lebuhraya Pantai Timur Fasa 1 (LPT1) highway near Lanchang, heading towards Kuantan, last night. The incident, which involved a Proton Saga, two Perodua Myvi, a Toyota Alphard, a bus express, a Proton S70, a tanker lorry, a Honda CRV, a Toyota Hilux, and a Perodua Aruz, is detailed by Pahang State Disaster Management Officer Salahuddin Isa.

Among the four fatalities, three were passengers and one was a driver: Muhammad Nazatullah Nazmi, 32, and his wife Nur Atiqah Sofiya Mohd Kazwan, also 32, and a child and a young adult in the Honda CRV. Four injured individuals included two men trapped in the tanker lorry and Honda CRV, a woman in the Toyota Hilux, and a man with minor injuries in the Proton Saga. Out of 30 bus passengers, all are reported to be safe, except those in the Toyota Alphard, Perodua Aruz, two Perodua Myvi, and the Proton Saga.

Assistance from Pahang State Bomb and Rescue Department (JBPM) and local authorities arrived at the scene at 11.24 PM after receiving an emergency call at 10.44 PM. Additional help from BBP Mentakab and two officers arrived shortly after. Local authorities confirmed the death of six JBPM Karak members before handover to the police, while three Proton S70 passengers also succumbed to their injuries before being handed over to the police.
