Xi kicks off state visit to Kyrgyzstan, hailing “golden period” of cooperation

Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Kyrgyzstan on Sunday for a state visit and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit, stating that China-Kyrgyzstan relations have entered a "golden period" of rapid development. Upon his arrival, Xi and his wife were welcomed by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov and his wife at the Manas International Airport.

Xi emphasized that China and Kyrgyzstan share a longstanding friendship dating back 34 years, with their relationship withstanding international changes and maintaining stable development. In recent years, bilateral trade and exchanges have reached new heights, and significant projects like the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway have been successfully executed, benefiting both nations.

During his visit, Xi plans to engage in in-depth discussions with President Japarov on China-Kyrgyzstan relations, cooperation in various fields, and international and regional issues of mutual concern. He aims to draw a new blueprint for building a shared future in the SCO community. Xi expressed his eagerness to attend the SCO Bishkek Summit and collaborate with all parties to review the SCO's 25-year development experience, discuss cooperation plans, and promote the SCO's continuous growth.

He described the China-Kyrgyzstan relationship as a "golden model" of good-neighborly friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation, highlighting the sincere respect China has for Kyrgyzstan and its people.

Kyrgyz economists and political analysts view Xi's visit as an opportunity to strengthen political trust and expand mutually beneficial cooperation. They see the visit as aligning with the call for carrying forward the Shanghai Spirit and building an SCO community with a shared future.
