‘Walk the talk’: Prakash Ambedkar implores Rahul Gandhi to act in Kharge ‘purification’ row

Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) chief Prakash Ambedkar criticized Congress workers for their silence on the 'purification' ceremony held in Haldwani after Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge's rally. This came a day after Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi condemned the ceremony, calling it an act of untouchability.

Ambedkar expressed disappointment that the Congress took until after 15 days to react against the 'casteist' act. He noted that Kharge had to express sorrow over the lack of explicit condemnation from his own party members. A day after the press conference, Ambedkar highlighted the Congress party leaders who remained silent on casteism faced by their own president, comparing them unfavorably to BJP Manuvadis.

He emphasized that showing photos in a presentation did not solve anything, as everyone knew the RSS-BJP was responsible for the casteism against Khargeji. Ambedkar questioned if Rahul Gandhi had filed any FIR to assist Kharge in seeking justice. He concluded by asking if Rahul Gandhi was willing to 'walk the talk' and back up his words with action when it came to supporting his own party president.
