VIDEO: Nigerians are already in hell, Ibiyeomie urges compassionate evangelism

Nigerian pastor David Ibiyeomie has urged Christians to focus on showing compassion rather than preaching about hell to those suffering from poverty, high living costs, and other economic hardships. Speaking during a sermon, Ibiyeomie, the Founder and Presiding Pastor of Salvation Ministries, argued that preaching about hell would not effectively convert people who are already struggling to survive.

He said, "You can imagine preaching hell to Nigerians; they are already in hell. There is no way you will preach hell to Nigerians and anybody will be born again." Instead, Ibiyeomie suggested that Christians should emphasize God's love and the possibility of transformation, assuring people that God can change their circumstances.

Compassion, he argued, is a powerful tool for evangelism, as it demonstrates God's nature and can lead people to accept Christ. "Compassion will make you tell them Jesus loves you. In spite of what you’re going through, He will show you His mercy," he said.
