Ukrainian drones destroy Russian air defense, radar systems at Yeysk, Millerovo airfields

Ukrainian forces launched long-range drone attacks overnight, targeting Russian military installations at the Yeysk and Millerovo airfields. According to Robert Madyar Brovdi, commander of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces, the drones destroyed a Pantsir-S1 air defense system, two radar systems, and aviation facilities at Yeysk airfield in Russia's Krasnodar Krai.

At Millerovo airfield in Rostov Oblast, the drones destroyed Kasta 2E2, RSP-27, and Nebo-SV radar systems, as well as additional aviation equipment and a depot. The destruction was confirmed by additional reconnaissance. The primary target was a DRL-27 module of Russia's RSP-27 aircraft landing radar system. The operation's purpose was to neutralize the Russian air defense and radar capabilities.

While the Kyiv Independent could not independently verify the claims, the strikes are part of Ukraine's intensified campaign against Russian military and energy infrastructure. President Volodymyr Zelensky called for a significant increase in long-range drone strikes, aiming to launch 1,000 such drones daily. Currently, Ukraine launches over 300 long-range drones every day on average.

This campaign comes as Russia escalates its aerial attacks against Ukrainian cities, prompting Ukraine to employ long-range drones to strike far behind the front line.
